Acquisition or split
Two companies, or one becoming two, and nobody can see the whole business.
A typical situation
“We bought a company, or we are splitting one off, and every system and report is different. We can’t see the whole business.”
My view
A transition services agreement is a bridge, not an IT department. The real decisions are what to own, in what order, and by when. Sequence by what the business needs to achieve in the next 12 months, and take ownership of those capabilities first.
Start here
The Two-Week Assessment for an acquisition or split.
We focus the assessment on:
- Which systems, vendors and contracts each side has, and what depends on what
- Where the risks are, with dates and costs, including any agreement with a clock running
- A day-one-to-day-90 plan with decisions and owners
You get a written plan you can act on, whether or not you work with us again: an ownership map, a risk register with dates and costs, and a 90-day plan with decisions and owners, presented to your leadership team. The plan names the next step: a systems and data integration project (systems map, migration plan and shared reporting), an advisory seat, or fractional IT leadership.
Scope is one site or entity and up to six interviews, for one fixed fee quoted before we start.
Experience
Why I can speak to this
I was the first IT hire and Head of IT at a joint venture of about 2,200 people (Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies). I moved nearly all of about 175 tools and contracts off a 12-month transition services agreement onto the joint venture’s own contracts.
Experience reflects my previous roles, not T&K client engagements. — Emily Roy, Founder & Fractional IT Director
