I’m an enterprise technology operator. I’ve built and led technology organizations across aerospace, automotive, and advanced engineering environments, and my work has centered on the moments when rapid growth, geographic expansion, manufacturing, security requirements, and organizational complexity force a company to rethink how technology is run.
I started Thruxton & Kendall, an operator-led technology advisory for companies that build physical things. It starts with a fixed-fee Two-Week Assessment, then continues as fixed-scope projects or fractional IT leadership. You can see how that works.
I have 11 years in IT infrastructure and 7 in leadership. At Rivian I built commercial IT from zero and supported 35+ site launches, then built the IT team in the Serbia hub to about 40 people, as the hub grew to nearly 400. I was the first IT hire and Head of IT at the Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies joint venture. Most recently, as Director of IT Infrastructure & Platforms at Archer Aviation, I led a $20M technology portfolio.
I lead as a servant leader, and I work alongside your MSP and IT team, not around them. I partner closely with the business, so technology is never just a reactive ticket queue.
If your situation looks like one of these, start there: a new plant or expansion, fragmented technology ownership, an acquisition or split, or compliance readiness. You can also find me on LinkedIn.
When I’m not helping companies, I’m usually boxing, geeking out over cars and motorcycles, or hunting for a great cup of coffee. As a queer woman of color, I’ve spent my career outside the usual mold, and I’ve come to like it there.
Thank you for reading. If something is changing at your company, I’d love to hear about it.
Warmly,
Emily Roy
