Fragmented technology ownership
Technology has grown faster than anyone’s job description.
A typical situation
“IT is a few vendors and one overworked person. Nobody owns the decisions, and we have outgrown it.”
Common signs
- Vendor contracts renew by default because nobody owns the decision.
- Each team handles access, equipment and tools its own way.
- Decisions wait for whoever has time.
- The gaps sit between functions, such as IT and HR or IT and finance, more than inside any one tool.
Start here
The Two-Week Assessment for fragmented technology ownership.
We focus the assessment on:
- Who owns each technology decision today, and who supports it
- Where the gaps and risks are, with dates and costs
- What to decide first, and who should decide it
You get a written plan you can act on, whether or not you work with us again: an ownership map, a risk register with dates and costs, and a 90-day plan with decisions and owners, presented to your leadership team. The plan names the next step: an IT leadership roadmap project (ownership map, 12-month roadmap and a hiring handoff), an advisory seat, or fractional IT leadership until you hire full-time.
Scope is one site or entity and up to six interviews, for one fixed fee quoted before we start.
Experience
Why I can speak to this
At a company I worked at, onboarding and offboarding sat between IT and HR, so it belonged to neither. Unreturned laptops had added up to tens of thousands of dollars. I re-examined joiners, movers and leavers end to end and worked with HR to define who owned each step. I fix the seam between functions, not just the tool.
Experience reflects my previous roles, not T&K client engagements. — Emily Roy, Founder & Fractional IT Director
